La Liga giants Real Madrid have finally announced the signing of Belgium World Cup star Thibaut Courtois on a 6-year deal after Chelsea accepted, reportedly, a 35 million pound bid from the 13-time Champions League winners.
The Belgian shot-stopper had been trying to force his way out of the Chelsea squad for the past few days after failing to report to the training sessions. This will be the second stint for the 26-year old in La Liga after 3 seasons with bitter rivals Atletico Madrid on loan from Chelsea between 2011-2014 appearing 154 times for the Spanish club.
The 2-time Premier League winner will join Real Madrid after 154 appearances for the London club. The 2016/17 Premier League winners have already announced the signature of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletico Bilbao as his replacement.
